Yea, Taxachusetts stinks when it comes to red tape and "taxes" and I will echo that! When I lived there I wanted to replace a tub and I was told in the city I lived (I guess the whole state) the only legal way to replace the tub was to have a licensed plumber, who registered with the city, do it or they would pull my work permit and require the work redone. I doubled checked, it was illegal to buy a bathtub and simply replace the one you had.
PA has 3x the residents of MA, yet they spend the same as MA on government.
