Question

tranny filter change

I had my tranny fluid flushed about 20k miles ago.I now just want to change the filter. How much fluid does the pan hold? 6qts?

I think the last time I just changed the filter it took 10qts.

mine took 8 quarts. I've heard anywhere from 7 to 10. I put 6 in and saw nothing on the stick, added another and it was full but after i started it it was down again so i ended up with 8.

I just flushed my tranny yesterday, I dropped the pan just to see how everything looked. How much metal shaving material around the magnet is normal? I cleaned everything up off the magnet and off the bottom of the pan, but am kinda leary about the amount of material.

"Fluffy" is definitely normal, but "the size of a small squirrel" would be cause for concern...
