Well it needs paint and some tranny adjustment, was thinking of doing but if I need a new tranny is it really worth it. I can buy a nicer looking one for around the same price it is to fix this one.
I'd buy the nicer one if it costs the same as a tranny - then you can have a driver and a parts truck, or you can turn one of them into a monster Bronco.
The efi Broncos are nice, even if they're a little older. I'd fix up the one you've got....then again, I'm fond of the 80-86 bodystyle! If you put a new transmission in yours, you'll have reliable transportation.
You seem to like the year/style. Are you in an area of Florida around some salvage yards? If all else is well, change the tranny, paint it (bet you wanted a killer paint job anyway) and go on with your Bronco.
Tex
I would look at rebuilding the tranny and keeping your Bronco, as you know how it's been driven and what's wrong with it. If you go buy another Bronco, you don't know what problems it may have. It should not cost more than $500-$600 to overhaul the tranny. Hopefully, if it is a C6 it should outlast the rest of the rig!
