We are pleased you have chosen, the best source of Fords…..there is!
See you on the boards
I suspect that your associate is on the mid to high side of the baby boomer window (such as I) or is influenced by someone that is.
His caution may have been true a few decades ago but, I cannot imagine that it would be true today. Manufacturing standards are much to high tech than in the olden days and it would be way to costly for a global shipping plant in KY to differentiate between what vehicle went to ME and which one went to AZ. Makes parts less common when commonality is the goal.
You can bet that all the other states diesel truck buyers are paying for CA emmision standards. (BTW: If I was not going to buy a state specific truck...a CA truck would be the one I would avoid...IMO)
With that said the obvious exception on the '05 6.0 Super Duty is the block heater cord delete on all SD's except those designated for 8 (I think) specific states.
You will notice that the corrosion warranties are not state specific. I believe the Ford Super Duty corrosion warranty is 100,000 miles rust through...but I do not have the manual right in front of me as we speak.
Good luck and happy, safe trucking.
