i got a 2000 f250 4x4 crewcab just today the cruise control quit, the off switch for the overdrive is blinking & the blower for the heater stays on when i turn the key off...then i noticed a lite sounding chime under the dash 5 rings then stop 5 rings & then stop......what is going on here? anyone else seen these problems before? i can turn the blower off at the blower switch.........thanks
Wow that's quite a list of symptoms. The OD light blinking along with the cruise quitting may be a speed sensor issue or trannie issue. Does the speedo work? Does the abs light flash or is it on? The speed sensor having problems will cause some of those problems. The heater thing I've no clue about. I'd take it and have the codes pulled. If the OD light is flashing the truck knows there's something wrong so there will be at least one code.
Hey, flyingfrizzle I'm having the same problem's with the same truck. I just joined this site to do some research and I'm going to look at a wet fuse panel first. After a few days of the same problem's you talked about my horn decided to go off one night. I had to pull the relay, next, my starter started to engage on it's own, I disconnected the batteries. To toubleshoot I've pulled off the single pole wire on the starter relay so I can connect the batteries. I plan on spending one more day on this today before I call the dealer. Let me know how you make out, best of luck to you. PS. I hate getting beat by a machine
problem solved........i had water on the fuse panel door under the steering wheel ,got the water hose out & sprayed around the windsheild & found a small leak on the drivers side at the top corner, fixed the leak with silicon....i have not had the problem since so i figure the water was running down the windsheild under the dash & onto electrical componants causing things to short out...whipline good luck & check that windsheild for leaks.......
Hey, Flyingfrizzle I don't know if you got my last post to you because my cable went down for a couple of days, but thanks alot for the info my problem was water and everything is back to normal now. Now I can take my junk yard dog for a run in the woods without worring about my ride home. Thanks again your a class act. Art
