We have talekd about having an FTE FE get together in 2005. We even discussed having it in Texas (somewhat central location). And, I offerd to host and coordinate such an event.
I just want to check again and see if there is any interest. Also, I may have some more free time at Spring Break (factory may shut down for the week). I realize thats kinda soon. But, would anybody be interested in a gathering around the 2nd week of March? Should be good weather for some track time! For those that don't know, I'm in central texas (Austin-San Antonio area). if you have other suggestions for dates, please list them!
March is a little early for me. I want to bring the 511, and it won't be ready by then. UncleFudd and I are still interested in coming to visit you and Strokster later in the summer.
I am interested, but like Scouder said, March is too early. I want to get a few good trips under the belt of the new 390 and get a few bugs worked out of the fuel injection before attempting such a trip. Not to mention replacing the heater core, which will be a job and 1/2.

Well, if we wait long enough. you won't need a heater core :-) Actually, that shold be an easy job...
you guys start throwing out some other possible dates.
Hey guys,
Id like to show up just to see some of the rides.
I have a 390 FE in my 66 F-100, that i built for the track.
Im also building a 72 Mercury Comet GT and I am VERY close to deciding to swap in a mustang II front end and put my 390 in it :P
I'd bring it if it was done, but wont be done this year.
Hope you guys have fun.
That would be cool. Not sure I could afford to actually DRIVE any of mine that far though .
Haha know that feeling
I used to drive my F-100 to the track w/ 3.70 gears and a 390 C6 combo.
Its about 2 hr drive on the highway, takes a LONG time to get there
Yeah. I have the under dash AC unit. The heater core is integral with that. I have to pull the whole thing, and disconnect the AC lines to the compressor to get enough length to pull it. Then I have to take the WHOLE thing apart, plop in the new heater core, then throw the whole thing back together. After that, I get to recharge the AC. Oh joy.
I'd rather do this next summer when it's 70F out than now when it's 0F out.
My '69 has 4.56 gears
Ya, it will go 65 mph........Fuel efficiency.... NOT!
Blown galaxie is not much better with 3.89 gears
I did a heater core on that type of A/C unit way back.
I, for the life of me don't know why they did not put a simple panel on the back to pull off and get to heatercore. They make you totally dismantle the unit to get the rear part. Mine went out in the winter time, where I had to work OUTSIDE as I ripped that stupid thing apart.
That summer I put a std heater box in and got rid of the A/C. I still have complete unit(including NEW heatercore).
My '67 has under dash air that allows use of std heater box
