I have a 2001 F250 xl without a steering stabilizer. The steering on this truck is so tight that when I hit a bump or slightly turn the steering wheel quickly, the whole truck jerks over. Would a steering stabilizer help with this problem? If so, any suggestions of brands? I have an Edge 2" mini spring pack and 4" blocks in the rear if that makes a difference, but the truck did the same thing without the modifications. Thanks.
How many miles on your truck?
A stabilizer could help with the bump steer from holes and bumps in the road. You may also check your front suspension components. My truck handled the same way until I replaced my ball joints. Now it us much better.
I have a brand new, in box, rancho heavy duty stabilizer for sale if you are interested. It is larger than the tiny OEM shock and it has all the brackets you need. The install takes 10 min.
I recommend the stabilizer as well. The stock unit is "weak" at best. Those of us that have swapped them out for aftermarket units can attest to that. Aftermarket units are not that much $$. I don't have a recommendation. I have the BDS myself, but I can only compare it to the stock unit. Go with the Dual setup.
Would the dual setup be too much for a leveling kit and 305's?? I plan on going bigger, but don't want to go over kill, but don't want to be wasting parts later on.

I have Rancho leveling springs and 305's as well and a dual stabilizer works well, definitely not overkill.
I installed a dual stabiliser on mine with stock suspension and 265 tires.
Works great. not overkill.
Get the dual.
If you don't like it, you can always remove one of the stabilizer shocks.
Hey guys, i am running a 350SRW it has a 2.5in leaf pack in the front to level it out. I am also running 315,75r16's (35in) i dont have ANY stabalizer bar. I bought a daul awhile ago and it made such an imporvment but one thing troubled me. It defanantly stiffened the steering up ALOT. Almost to the point i thought it was not good for the steering pump or other steering things. It is a superlift dual steering setup . i want to put it back on now that i am running my 35's it gets a little squarly on the highway in construction zones. I just dont want to do damage to steering parts having to move those 2 big shocks up there. i dont want my steering to blow out in 6 months you know. thanks for any advice on this
I only have the single Stabilizer,, Was told by a very reputable shop that unless your running at least a 35" tire or bigger that there is no benefit to the dual setup. I replaced my factory stabilizer with a Rancho 5000,, made all the difference in the world and I only have a leveling kit and 285's.
I run 8" of lift and 38s, and I think the dual is overkill. In fact I have been running it the past few months with none at all (mostly cause I am laszy weld up the bracket for just one).
The duals are nice if you like the looks... but a high qualtiy single will do the job for sure.
I think i will go back to my single. I have the set up for a dual or a single, I have both brakets. i have a superlift dual but i have the hardware to run one if i want. i put both on last night and it was way to much. when in a parking lot and doing alot of turning with your foot on the brake its next to impossible. Since these trucks brakes and power steering share the hydrolics thats why we sometimes have a loss of power when trying to turn with our foot on the brakes. So between that and the dampeers it was way to hard so i will be going back to my single tonight i think....
oh im running 35's so ....
