I just put an Edge 3" spring hanger and shackle lift on my truck last night. Finished it up today and after centering the steering wheel back up with the drag link, the steering seems to have considerably more slop in it than usual. Truck is 04 4wd PSD CC. Can someone tell me how to adjust the steering box? I looked on the bottom of the box from underneath the truck and didn't see anything that looked like an adjustment.
how many miles do you have on your truck? I have seen many people try to adjust a ford box and cause more problems than good.. Check your track bar bolts and the brackets. That can make it feel like the steering is sloppy. Re check everything before adjusting the box.
4000 miles... If you have steering box slop I would be taking it back to ford. I had a 2000 sd with 50k+ miles a 6 inch lift and 35 in boggers on 12 inch wide wheels before I needed a adj and it was just minor. I have seen alot of people mess up their boxes trying to adj them there is a fine line to follow when adj these boxes.
You have to disconnect the Pitman arm, remove the airbag off the steering wheel, put a in-lb torque wrench on the steering wheel nut, etc. It is not a simple procedure. I have the procedure in PDF format.
Holy Doodoo! Okay, I won't be adjusting the steering box. I thought it was some simple little procedure where you turned a screw or something. Okay, I guess I have to get the track bar tighter, but I honestly don't know how I can get it to 369 ft/pounds. Any suggestions?

i used the shortened procedure on adjusting my steering box.. the one where you just "turn the screw"... i turned it 3/4 of a turn, really helped and I havent had "more problems then good" yet
I have the steerimg gear adjustment procedure in pdf format. Send me an email and I will respond and email it back.
I had everything replaced under the front end of my 2015 F250. I mean everything, including a dual steering stabilizer. Now suddenly I have slop in the wheel. About two inch, maybe a little less. The guys who did the installation know what they are doing. I feel sure all parts are installed correctly and are tight. Why do I have slop in the wheel. The only thing left would be the steering box. Am I right?
