i dont think you understand. it wont work. the stock speed density computer which is what controls your motor will not agree with that cam and it will not run very well. Also your hp/trq numbers your hoping for are very high for what you've got going here. Im just trying to save you some serious money. to run that cam would require upgrading to MAF which for you would cost $1500 just for that kit. then figure cost of custom chip tune. Most mustang guys wont even run a cam with a lobe seperation of less then 112 because of how it runs. i think you need to be doing more homework here.
well my motors like done now.. and my homework is done and im gonna run it in there and we will see wut happens guess. we used to computer program that figures the valves, lift, and cam and its gonna be at 380 horse
i was gonna go with a cam that had 110, but then italked to comp and crane they both said it would only have a 50/50 chance with MAF and forget it with SD. so i went with another cam, and 1500$? shouldnt be that much, just buy a new harness..like 265$ or so outta summit then the rest can be had off ebay so mayb like 400 or more but notta lot.
were only tryin to keep your from makin a big mistake that u'll kick yourself for, just dont risk it and sell the cam as never been run or trade it for a computer friendly one. just my 2 cents.
the reason i said so much for that maf harness is because if he has an e4od tranny the only kit available is from painless wiring and its way expensive.
87 that program doesnt take into account what computer is running your rig. seriously take that cam out now while you have a chance. get comp cam 35-255-5 its a sweet cam for efi 5.8's running speed density which your truck is.
unless your engine is carbed it wont work.
well the 351 is out of a 90 f-250 and im using that ecm, and i am also using the c6.. its to late now to turn back, but i am thankful you guys care and want to help..
the 90 ecm is still speed density. is the motor in the truck. if not just pull the cam out. do it right the first time. otherwise that truck is gonna just sit in your driveway. its never to late to turn back. never
Kemicalburns is right on the money, unfortunately With all the money I've got tied up in my new Stroker it will never be right unless I upgrade to the MAF system. In a few days the truck will be parked until I get the time ,money and care to make it right, I'm really sick of it. It runs OK but I can't get into it or it leans right out.
iwish i had the xtra cash for a stroker, but im buildin my motor with the most power i can get outta the lest amount of gas ( better mpg) lol. so im not gonna go crazy. course if i hat the xtra coin. id get a cummins and droper in along with all the xtra welding and stuff to make it work
oh big, your the guy that just built a stroker using that sd cam right? bummer its not running right. definatly keep it parked otherwise youll burn something up. go to fordfuelinjection.com and get a harness there. top notch fella with great work. tell him Kemicalburns sent ya.
