Starter/flywheel problem

I have a 1993 F150 4.9/5-speed truck. I went to town the other day and turned off the truck. I came back out to start it and "click" it would not start. I checked the battery cables and still nothing. I replaced the battery with a new one and it still didn't start. Checked the solenoid and tried to jump it with a screwdriver and still got the clicking sound. Replaced the solenoid and it still wouldn't start. I figured it had to be the starter. Bought a new starter. I was able to "push-start" the truck in reverse and drove it to my house about 15 miles. Truck ran fine no problems, noises. I replace the starter with the new one and the truck starts up fine but it makes this terrible noise that sounds like it is coming from the starter/flywheel area. I thought the new starter may not be disengaging so I take the starter back to be checked and sure enough it was not disengaging. They gave me a new starter (they tested it in the store) and I installed it and start the truck and I still have the same noise. I did not have this noise with the old starter. Also when the truck is running and you hit the ingintion switch to try to start it again, they battery acts like it has disconnected ( the stereo goes off) instead of the tell-tale sign of the starter hitting the flywheel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check all your battery cables/grounds. Make sure they are free of corrosion and they are tight. Good luck!
