Jacobs ignition on 460

Has anyone tried the Jacobs "Pro Street" ignition on their truck? I am concidering trying one and would like to hear your real world experience.Thanks

Jacobs ignition on 460

Im sorry but I dont no of anyone running the Jacobs ignition with a 460. I have one installed in my Jeep and it seems to work very well. My Jeep is so underpowered, but low geared that I didnt notice any big HP increase, but I did notice very good performance improvements,such as steadier idle, smoother acceleration, and better fuel economy. However it was installed at the time as a K&N filter, Bosch Platinum spark plugs, a High Flow Catalytic Converter and a Pro Flow Muffler. I run an MSD ignition in my 91 F250 460, it works extremely well providing the spark, for all of the other mods. Later,

I'm bout to put one on my 460 and was curious if neone else has also... Any troubles during installation? Thanks

I put an MSD on my 460, and really couldn't tell the difference.

Jacobs ignition on 460

I installed a jacobs ignition on a 83 Bronco with a 460 motor about 6 or 7 years ago. I was immediatly impressed with the performance increase and smoother running. At one time I buried the truck in a swamp, water 1" from the top of the valve covers. Every time I hit the gas to go forward or backwards water would gush out of hood, fender, cowl openings and it still ran on all 8 cylinders! (had to get pulled out with a tractor) About 4 years ago I added a Mallory Unilite distributor to fine tune and limit the advance. This truck still runs excellent today! Words can not express how pleased I am with Jacobs! I highly recommend them! Good Luck! P.S. I have other vehicles with Mallory, Accel, and MSD ignitions. They also work excellent!

I have had a Jacobs on an 85 351w and an MSD on an 84 351w and have noticed no difference on either of these. I am sure they make small differences but unless you were doing huge highway driving I doubt you would notice.
