there's a service station here that has a 71 or 72 thats been redone with the late model wheel lift bed on it . looks almost new. if i remember i'lll get a photo of it to post.
Thanks 4Cammer, I was over in the 65 66 forum and some people were talking about there projects. I'm suprised more guys aren't toying with them. Maybe I should've put this in a more general area.
found my pics, now my scanner wont work. i will work on it. seems like there were a few people working on older model wreckers around here not to long ago.
Hello. There is a 67 F350 wrecker with a Holmes bed close to my home. It is for sale for $2500.00. It has less than 40,000 mi. It is in Winfield Tn. The fellow selling it is a nut.
I got pics of one I use around the house in my gallery. it is a very old wrecker unit i bought and cut 90% away and rebuilt it to move engines and old parts cars around with.
Not street legal to tow, but is legal to drive around town.
very handy to move those heavy FE parts engines with!!
someday I might get a winch to make lifting things easier.
Hi guys just joined the forum. I have to say this place is GREAT after reading some posts as a guest I just had to join. I worked at a garage in the late 70's early 80's and we had 4 f-250's converted to dual wheels(f-350 rears and springs) after cutiing the frames and welding back together for the right W/B we had Holmes 440's Holmes 480 and a Holmes H475 (Which was new for then) I have been concidering building one for myself ( complete frame off) and would love to see any and all pics that anyone may have. I am going to talk to the owner of the garage and see if he has any pics from back in the day. Thanks. Tom
