ok so we finally got a little snow and i decide to try out the 4wd. well i have two basic problems. one i replaced a broken original locking front hub with two warn hubs and drivers side refused to slide in easily like the passenger side and when the front hubs are locked makes ALOT of noise driving forward....i unlocked the hubs 1/8th mile from my house. well i locked the hubs and attempted to put the t-case to 4hi and it won't go! i can take it out of 2wd but when i pull down i can see the 4x4 light flash and thats it. if i try to move transfer case leaver pops out. needless to say the snow the made the ride home alot less fun. any ideas would be greatly appreciated once its not winter i will be alot more motivated to work on this truck outside....
when you say it make alot of noise is this with just the hubs engaged, or the transfer case too? i had problems getting my transfer case into 4wd when i got it because the po had never used it, it took alot of perswation to get it fully into 4wd and n and 4lo. now it shift just fine.
is your t case good on fluid? make sure it is by taking a 3/8 ratchet and taking the top filler cap out on the back of the case. im pretty sure u fill it with auto trany fluid. hitting the back of the case with a rubber mallet while someone pulls on on the lever might help, and you might want to make sure non of the linkages are bent or hiting anything
