Well, the weatherstripping around the doors of my '82 F-150 is finally decomposing into the molecules from whence it came, causing the cab to sound like a wind tunnel. I know several companies that offer several types of weatherstripping but I was wondering if anyone could recommend one type/style over the others.
TIA,

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 28-Nov-02 AT 09:20 PM (EST)]Do a web search for Dennis Carpenter , they stock the weather stripping you need . Email me if you need the phone # or right URL
I don't think junkyards are an option for me. I live in Phoenix and the summer heat is brutal on rubber/plastics (that's why Dash Mats sell so well here). Anything I find in the junkyard will be at least as bad as what I already have.
JC Whitney sells a whole slew of weatherstripping...and that's their problem. I'm not sure which one would work best (if at all).
Metrommp.com doesn't offer weatherstripping for my application, so they're a no-go. (sigh)
I found a company on the web, weatherstripspecial.com that sells the door seals for $45/pair + shipping. After I find out about their warranty and return policies, I may give them a try. Or it's off to the dealership.
"The window channels and the outer belt weatherstrip are perfect :-)"
Thanks for telling me they fit ok. Those are the ones I was looking at.
BigBadWally, if you go to the JCWhitney website and type in part #
15ZU0680B they will come up. These are the only ones that are making my cab noisy. And I have bought weatherstripping from them before for another vehicle I have, and it didn't fit exactly right.
If the parts you are looking for were on this site, I wouldn't do this. But since they are not. . . .
I bought the window channels and antirattlers for my wife's 1981 F100 from another aftermarket source. The installation was relatively simple and really easy. They fit extremely well, with no ratlle or wind noise.
I'm would guess their weatherstripping is of the same quality. E-mail me and I'll tell you how to contact them for a catalog. I'm probably pretty close to you since I'm in southern New Mexico.
