you shouldn't have to lube the pistons uless the have rusted from sitting exposed to long I've used wd40 to take off lite rust but the ram seals act as wipers and will keep the pistons lightly coated with hydralic oil are you using a good low temp or artic rated hydralic oil usually you just have to run the plow up and hold it against the pressure relief valve a few seconds to bleed any air from the lift cylinder and turn it one way and hold it against the relief valve a couple of seconds to get the air out of the side rams make sure the filter in your pump is clean to on a western it is inside the resivoir under the pump\motor if this gets full of crud it will not let enuff fluid go to the cylinders
