In my opinion, stick with Craftsman. There is a 60 pc. set for 29.99 which is pretty good. Add a 12" Crecent wrench, Vice Grips, Needle Nosed pliars, some screwdrivers, Hacksaw, files, and a BMF and you're good to go.

Here it is:

I picked up that 29.99 closeout Craftsman set. It isn't too bad. It has a nice carrying case to keep everything organized. Not bad for $30 bucks!

Tool kits are great, but I have found that a part or repair item is worth more than any tool you could put in your kit. Make your own kit, look at your needs and vehicle. Put in the basic tools, good screw drivers various length and type, Chanel Lok plyers, knife, wire, etc. Then put in the stuff that will really save your bacon. Road flares, hose clamps various sizes, zip ties, duct tape, fuses, water, flashlight with extra batteries, rope, duct tape, jb weld, snacks, gloves leather and laytex, and cheap repair manual. I off road and have saved myself many times and my stranded wife twice now. Good luck.

Just the basics will do wonders to get you off the road or maybe back home. A six-way screwdriver, 8" channelocks, 8" cressent wrench, BATTERY BRUSH/CLEANER (That one actually got me a kiss from a very pretty lady), Duct Tape and a roll of wire, and a good flashlight.

If you have a Ford, you need the right tools to help others that are less fortunate.

My truck's tools include:
jumper cables
tow strap
A 12 volt test light
6 in 1 screwdriver
Cee-Tee pliers
electrical tape, and connectors
a mini torch
wiring pliers
wd-40
full set of standard and metric wrenches
18" crescent
12" pipe wrench
Estwing claw hammer
Fencing pliers
Duct Tape
5 lb ring of keys (I was an equipment repo man)
convert-a-ball set
