starting problems
Hi all,
I am having a weird problem with my truck starting it is a 2001 F-150 4.2L V6. This problem started about a month ago. I got in the truck in the morning and it started fine but after filling up gas it would not start. Had it towed down to the dealership for a buddy to have a look at it in the morning and it started right up. It ran for the next month and is now not starting again. When I attempt to turn it over it sounds strong but just won't start. Please help!

Hi and welcome to the forum 
Next time it wont start try holding the throttle down a little bit and see if that makes a difference. If it does then you probably have an IAC (Idle Air Control) problem.
If that doesn't help then try cycling the key from off to run a few times before cranking it. If that helps then you may have a partially plugged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump.

I just wanted to thank you for the advise. I tried cycling the key from off to run a few times and it did start for a sec. I am replacing the fuel pump. Thanks again and sorry it took so long to reply to your post.
