adding refrigerant to 99 Expy
Hi all, I'm wanting to add freon to my 99 Expedition. I know how to add since I've done it on my old Suzuki Sidekick (had a mechanic show me how).
However, I can't seem to locate the valve on my 99 Expy. I see one up top but I don't think that's the correct one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to locate the suction line adpater to charge the system. It should be located in the line between the accumulator and the compressor or on the accumulator itself. The charging hose sold with the R-134 kits will attach to the charging (suction) side only. However, I wouldn't add freon to a system without having gauges attached to both the high and low sides so that you can monitor pressures to avoid overcharging which can damage the compressor among other things.
