I searched all around in the forums and couldn't find any mention of this.
I'd like to remove my mudflaps from my 03 f150. Just the factory jobs on the front and back. Are they just held on by the two plastic screws? The head wants to strip when I turn it, and I have a big screwdriver so it's not that. Any tips?
If it is plastic, just drill it out. If you ever put them back on you will have to buy new screws. Just a note though, pending the size of drill and location of the screws, you may need to pop off the tires to get at the screws with a drill.
mine are held on my 3 metal screws and 2 plastic grommets. i have an expedition, but assume they are similar. You should be able to look inside the fender from behind and see what is holding them on. My father has an F150, and i think i recall seeing plastic grommets on his, and those can be drilled if you cant pry them loose... As couleeman says, taking the tires off makes the job much easier.
