I've added a couple of LED bars in the interior of that cavernous console.
Darn frustrating at night when you open it to only reveal darkness...
I'll post pics if anyone wants to see them. Clean install, tapped into the console's rear power point.
Next on the list is LEDS on the bottom of all the doors, bottom of the rear hatch (when opened) and somethings has to be done about the way too dim front map lights! Still thinking about that one...
Have you seen how bright the map lights are in the new F150?! It's like the sun!
I'll get pics up today. I actually wanted to test it out for a few days before I shared pictures. Guess I shoulda waited to make my post.
I am still waiting to install a plunger switch for it. I just haven't had a chance to go get one. Right now it is switched with a tiny, side switched, on/off switch.
The poor lighting bugs me also (I carry a flashlight in console to see dash items up close). Let me know what works well for you re add-ins. My 95 Towncar is as bright as day and I'll bet the Navs have good lighting too.
I bought them off ebay. I cannot remember from who. Couple days after I paid for it ebay emailed me and said the auction was null and void due to the seller being suspended.
Anyway, the guy sent them and they work perfect!
A search LED should turn up (from what I remember)...thousands of listings!
I'll be back on tonight looking for something to add to the overhead console.
