I can get a haircut at any barber in town for 8 bucks. Just went up from $7.00. Looks like their tip is already included. $10 per cut. 4 per hour= $40.00 cash an hour aint bad when you dont even claim all of it to uncle sam. which most dont. If you want to give them $48 an hour, go ahead.
Yea, but you don't live near a BIG city. There ain't a barber within 50 miles of Atlanta that don't charge at least 10 bucks.
If the owner is cutting hair >Price $14 > No Tip
If an employee cuts hair $14 & does a good job $2 Tip
If I have a 50% off coupon $14 -7 =$7 Haircut > $2.50 tip
Now, for 7 months of the year I get my head Buzzed off.
It looks something like this.
Every 6 weeks in the chair for 4 minutes $14/cut > NO Tip
P.S. My hair grows slowly sometimes ,Not even that !:-(

I know some guys that go to these beauty salons and happily pay $25 (plus a tip) to get the worst haircut of their life. So some little honey, just out cosmetology school can rub her implants in their face. The lower the top the more tip they get.
These old timers in the barber shops are going to be extinct.
Of course a good hair cut is more to me.

Ya, seems that so many of these fancy hair salons and stylist places are overrun with that type of employee. And the old fashioned barber is increasingly harder to find.
I miss the good ol' days when I visited a real barber as a child. He had a red and white striped spinning pole out front. The inside was not fancy, but clean and well kept. The wood paneled walls were cozy and the deer antlers and heads kept me in awe. He had barber chairs that had to be from the 50's and still functional. The guys would sit around talking about cars, sports, and hunting. The soft humming of the clippers was almost like music. The smell of comb cleaning solution. And there was always a jar of bubble gum for the little ones. Aaaaaahhhhh... I miss those days. Maybe I'll open my own old fashioned barber shop when I retire...............

That's exactly where I go!! Pay $12 for a flat-top. Guy's been cutting flat-tops for 35 years. He's a freaking artist with them scissors and clippers. Always tip at least 3 bucks. I'd pay $40 for the haircut (it's THAT good), just don't tell him...
That describes my barber(s)... just replace cars with horses, sports with rodeo and hunting with 'coon hunting. Haircut is $9.00 but I always give 'em $10. These two guys have been cutting my hair for as long as I can remember... I'm not picky as to which one cuts it.
The thing we all should remember here is that we all have hair that still needs to be cut . Put a price on not having that esp on a cold winter morning .
