Re gearing
O.K. I just put on my lift 6" with 33" tires and know I need to get it re geared does anyone know where to get the gears? and about how $$$$$$$$
2nd question just spent 1700.00 on lift and tires and know I get a weird noise from I think is from the front of the oil Pan Main Bearings? replace or replace the engine? It is a 1986 302 EFI with AOD extended cab Long bed. I'm not going to let my Ford Die so what should I do replace the Bearing? or Motor
One friend thinks it is the Main Bearing and my other thinks it is valve slap?
on idle it will knock some times when acclerated no problems very smooth. the truck has 172000 miles so any advise will be greatley appericated
If I need to replace the motor where can I get a good one how $$$$, and can I put in a 351 with my same tranny?

Re gearing
By the sounds of it (with that mileage) your motor is worn out!!! Your best bet is to replace it with a rebuilt or low mileage junkyard motor! Worry about the gear change later! Good luck!
