The 11 nylon rivets that hold on the vent grille cost $1 each at my local Ford garage which seems like a fair enough price but I don't have anything but a standard rivet gun and so I thought I would ruin a few putting them in so I shopped for a cheaper alternative so I could ruin some and not have to run back to buy more.
The Ford items are actually Au-ve-co #15187. I orderd them online from http://www.fleetindustriesinc.com/ and paid $8.50 including postage for qty. 25. Not only did the guy call me back right away but I received them in 2 days from California to Michigan. It was incredible service.
I used a standard rivet gun to do mine, worked just fine and did not ruin any of the rivets. As far as the Wiper motor goes I fond at the local wrecking yard that a motor from trucks and Broncos from the 1980 year up into the 90's will work.
I just came in from the garage having put in the nylon rivets with a standard rivet gun. Other that having to resqueeze the gun a couple of times on each rivet, it seemed to work OK. A couple of them aren't real tight but the other ones make up for it.
