Nitro vs. gas shocks

Which is better? Rancho offers the rs5000 gas shock for $38 in summit, and sky jacker offers a nitro shock for $36 i think. what is the difference, and or which is better?

Sky Jacker nitro's are a soft shock. I don't like there ride in a single shock application. But with duals they work great. Monroe gas magnum's are a good shock. The Rancho shocks ride good also.
