ARMORER, that's why there are so many people that won't give them up. My father and I have both been fans of the big six for years. I put a glasspack on my '91 and only 2 1/4 piping and noticed a huge difference, no shifting out of overdrive like it used to. It didn't seem to make as much of a difference on my 351w truck with 2 1/2" piping, but it sounds much better than the factory muffler. I do know that that factory muffler is pretty badly restrictive.
I noticed that on my 4.9 strait six the lower radiator hose comes in two similar but different shapes (from Gates that is) the 16$ one has a bit more curve than the 13$ one. Although both would work on my F150 (with air pump) the higher priced one has a slight curve formed into it to apparently more easily go around the air pump.
Both are a PITA to remove & replace. Would I be correct to assume that the reason for the two different hoses is because some of the Ford applications came without the air pump? Can't see how or why it would be an option.
Or maybe the other hose was for a years ago setup and O'Reillys (auto parts) just has both stock numbers showing as fitting the 93. Go figure.
