Dome light timer?

Dome light timer?
This may be a stupid question but is there a timer that shuts off the dome/cargo light if your doors have been open for so long, there was no owners manual in my truck when I bought it.I don't really like having all the lights on when I clean my truck inside,or does someone know a trick to shut them off for this purpose. My old gmc had a button for this but I don't see any on this truck.

I think that your truck has an anti-battery drain feature that will kill the interior lights after about ten minutes, and is resettable by closing the doors. Your truck does not have a switch as do certain GM trucks.
Want to review a free copy of your owner's manual? Go to www.motorcraft.com This site offers .pdf files (need Adobe Reader to open) containing owner's manuals for many Ford products

Me too.
I know you can pull the relay that controls the interior lights.
I want a switch so the dome (and Cargo) lights stay off even if the doors are open (Like teh Chevys have). I have several instances when I don;t want either on when the doors open, like when I am at the lake trying to load the kids. I don't need the bugs swarming into the cab due to lights being on.
Unless someone has info on a "parts kit" from Ford to add this override switch it looks like I get to do some wiring.
Thanks

This may be an idea for you,
I added took off the interio light and wired a switch inline, when the switch is on, the lights will come on in the interior, when off, lights wont come on... Dosnt help with the cargo light, but with a Canopy on, the light emitted is hardly noticable, frankly, im waiting for that light to burn out
But just add a switch to your dom light..
