I was born with the name Daniel. In Elementary School I was called Danny. In High School I was called Dan. Now I'm old & everyone is calling me Daniel again?
Clark Kent
Actually I rather like my name.

Interesting. I went through the same thing, at the Danny stage I was only Daniel when I was bad, and now people that knew me as a kid still call me Danny. And one friend who insists on calling everyone by "Y"-ending names when it can apply, you know, Billy, Bobby, that sort of thing. And my middle name is Clark. I never liked either one. If I could change it, I'd make it...Lance! No wait, Biff! No, that's no good either, way too preppy. I always liked Christopher, if my older sister had been a boy, my folks were going to name her John Christopher, I always liked both of those. Me, they saddled with Daniel. Oh well, at least it's not Moon Unit or Dweezel! -TD
I really don't mind my first name (Christian). I usually go by Chris. But, I do get tired of correcting people who try to call me Christopher. Oh well, least my name ain't Sue!
Well at my age (46) it's a little late to be worrying about changing my name! I am so used to my real name I would find it hard to remember my new one so it wouldn't work too well anyway!
Besides, most people create their own name for me as it is...and it's usually one I wouldn't choose for myself!
When i was born most people called me Ugly and some still do. My first name is Heath and I like it since it is a pretty rare name. As far as nicknames, over a dozen.
I've never been crazy about Jeffrey, but it's what Mom wanted. Everyone calls me Jeff, which is OK, but so many people want to spell it J-E-F-F-E-R-Y, which drives me nuts. Then there are those who want to impress others by spelling it Geoffrey. Let's not even go there; can you imagine being named Gee-OFF-ree? Yikes.....
