Has anybody here used the painless 12 circuit box, with the modern style fuses? Do they fit ok in the stock location? I found out that my stock box is directly in line with a hole in the wiper linkage area, and the terminals on the back are really rotted. I've got two or three external fuses added to bypass bad areas.
The liner for my glove box was removed, so I added a ATO fuse center inside where my glove box would have been. That gave it a clear shot through the firewall to the battery so I could run a 6 guage wire to it. I did not go with the stock location because I am rewiring as I go, plus, it is a poor position to go look at a fuse.
Being near your feet you can get gunk in there. Especially if you happen to be wearing big yellow boots, plus, if you clean your truck out with a hose, you are bouind to soak the fuse block.
Eventually I plan on doing some good off-road in my truck and I figured the higher the better. If the water gets to glove box level, the truck is already stopped and the water in the box would be the less of my worries.
