I have a 96 PSD and I love it I just bought it used of course I have wanted one since the first day I drove one.
I am having problems with the clutch. I have to push it all the way to the floor to disengage it. And it engages only a half inch off the floor board. Is there any way to adjust it? It is also hard shift the gears. Mostly first, second and reverse. Does any one know what the problem could be?
I also have a Oil leak by the tranmision. I think it is the rear main seal. How do you go about changing it.
There is a plastic bushing on the clutch linkage under the dash , above the brake peddle . That little part wears out and doesn't allow the clutch to fully disengage , it's very easy to replace , costs about $10 at the dealer ( used to be $3 ) I'm not sure if it's available at Auto Zone etc. There is a heim joint available for $40 on e-bay that will do away with the plastic bushing and eliminate the problem for ever . This may be your problem , also check the fluid level in the clutch master cylinder . Before you tear into the rear main check to make sure the oil isn't coming from a valve cover or someplace on top of the motor . Let us know what you find . And welcome to FTE !

ive got the hiem on mine and its great, i just had a problem where my clutch pedal is all the way down and nothings leaking i will let you know what i find but i bet yours is the dumb little plastic bushing, there really is no more adjustment on the clutch on theese, that oil leak is it atf or motor oil?? the quill tubes have been know for leaking a little on the 5 speed, i run amsiol atf in my trans and it makes a big differnce
Thanks for help I will try the little plastic bushing. It is probablly my problem mine is in pretty bad shape. I am not sure what kind of oil is leaking out of my tranni I think it is motor oil but I am not sure. I have to open the dust cover first. I will keep you all up dated. Thanks again.
if its motor oil i bet you its the oil galley plugs in the back of the head you can see them with a mirror there known for leaking, they have an updated design on the oring. theres a 1/2 drive square head, a snap on flex head rachet is the ticket to get them out. that 1/2 round part of the head there at the back of that. if thats what it is you have to be careful pulling them out because they were loctited in you have to break them loose and then work them back and forth before you bring them all the way out you can strip it out if you just run them right out. (i had a buddy find out the hard way)
