I have a 1986 F150 with a 351 motor. It needed exhaust when I bought it so I has custome bent duals made for the truck. The truck does not run its best and a friend of mine told me that one of the problems was that the exhaust doesn't have a crossover pipe to equalize the back pressure. Is there any truth to this?

What size pipe did you go with for your duals? I know some people who went with 3" pipes with a dual setup and they had problems like you described.
In my experience, the crossover will make it quieter. They say if you put it in the right place, it will increase engine performance. But I doubt you would feel the difference.
