03 gets new motor

Hey people Happy New year!
i posted not very long ago about a rear main seal leak.... well it turns out, after replacing it twice,and replacing some backing plate? the leak was never fixed...i got a call from the service manager that Ford will be replacing the motor! has any one else had this happen with there Expy?

Gee...wouldn't that be cool if you got the 3V 5.4L instead of the old 2V?!!

Yeah...they'd have to upgrade to the 4R75W tranny to put the 3V in there anyway... *darn*

Hope the new engine works out for you! I'm not so sure that I'd want the 3V engine- I like the 2V.

Monsta-
The '04 Expy (w/5.4) already has the 4R75W transmission... so that wouldn't be a big deal at all.

same here...if i didnt like the truck so much i would have gotten rid of it for a 05...keeping my fingers crossed

Not sure about the physical size. Best I can tell, the 4R75W is just a slightly stronger version of the 4R70W used behind the 4.6L engine. And by slightly, we're talking about being rated for an additional 50 ft-lbs of torque.

No idea about the Navigator... may still use the 4R100.
