I don't really know when Ford brought out those options. Dad had a new 60 F100 & it always had a can filter and oil bath, but this is Montana.... we didnt even have electric windows in our pickups till the 90's I think they sent all that stuff to the West Coast. We put 300K miles on that 60.
Up in northern Montana there are alot of 52 & 53 Ford F2 pickups around and they all have a Factory Metal and wood flatbed, with a Ford script. Ive never seen one of these beds in southern MT but up there they are everywhere.
Who knows.. All I can say is Im doing what I can.. right now Im putting a oil relocater/cooler kit on it. And getting the 2BBL Adapter 1 BBL to 2 BBL from stove pipe for $15. and a 2BBL holley carb from them for $65. Im hoping that will help it in the intake side for now..
I was thinking of trying the same carb and adapter on my truck. Let us know how it works out. Has anyone added headers to their 223? If so, any comments
My thought on the carb is right now a 223ci engine is trying to breath thru a dime size hole.. a 1901 Holley carb is rated at about 110cf while the 2bbl is rated at 350cf.. 3 times better in any case as I see it.. The headers on after the carb on my list.. maybe even a 2BBL 500cf holley to go with them...
Whats this stove pipe that I keep hearing about? Sounds like they carry a couple parts I could use. Any one out there got a web address for them? I tried a yahoo search but it didn't work. John (Black58)
