I have a 04 Screw. I've read a lot of the vibrations posts. I've noticed the nibble more than the vibration. However, I've had some pretty shaky times on smooth road and especially in the cold. My wife, and others, keep telling me that it's a "truck and should ride like a truck." Well, my 91 Ranger didn't shake in the steering wheel on smooth roads and this truck cost A LOT more than the Ranger did. I've had the truck's tires balanced and rotated already. It seemed to drive smoother but the problem is still there.
Anyway, to my question. I read in one of the posts that Ford had found a solution and was going to prepare for a recall but they didn't know how to approach it with the possibility of losing a lot of $$$. This post indicated that it will come soon. So, are there any insider who post here that know that a recall is coming for sure or is this just another Ford myth?
The 4x4 f-150 scpercrews are the ones that ford can't find a fix for.My truck has been rebuilt from one end to the outher and still has the vibes at 51, mpa, and nibbles start a 70, mph.The fse told me that, ford said that they were gonin to find a fix. But when ? They can buy my truck back, and ill move into a f-250.

Since the vast majority of the trucks do not have the vibration problem there won't be a recall. I can say I see more and more of these trucks on the road everyday. THey seem to be taking over the road. My advice is just to do as much research on this board as you can. Try to get the dealer to step through every possible option (especially the driveshaft). If you take it to the limit and document everything then apply for the lemon law and this forum can step you through that. Use the search feature. It may take an afternoon, but it is great feature.
My '04 Lariat 4x4 has 9000 mi. I've been complaining about the vibration since 100 mi. It has been in 4 times, the latest thing they are suggesting is: is something with the ring and pinion, but they aren't sure what they will do about it yet. I'm growing less patient everyday.
I have two vibrations; one is in the tires and the other has got to be driveline related. I now have 24k on my 2004 F150 SCrew FX4. I have been to the dealer. They have balanced the tires and performed a front end alignment. I know that I have one bad tire. It is not noticeable in the rear until you reach 80 MPH but when it is placed in the front............hold on, it vibrates horribly from 55 on. When the tires are not shaking the truck to death you can feel a resonating driveline vibration between 51 mph and 60 mph. The dealer can find nothing wrong. They have refused to fix it. I am on my own. I will have to live with it. Also, when towing my race car at about 55-65 mph, the back of the truck hops. It can at times be rough enough to jar fillings loose. I have owned many Ford trucks F150 through F250 and none of them hopped with my same trailer, same car, same roads.
If anyone has had these same problems and fixed them, please drop me a line!
Was at the dealers today said something about some truck having vibration he said
that the trucks that have the 17"wheels are having the vibration is this true
