Is it harmful to drive with the factory spare tire when I've upgraded to oversized (approx. 33") tires? I do have the limited-slip differential in the rear. Had this thought while doing some highway driving this past holiday.
I sure wouldn't try it. Two different size tires spinning at different speeds. Sounds like a lot of stress on the differential. But you bring up a good point. What do you do when an over-sized tire goes flat? So I called Les Schwab. They suggested getting an over-sized spare. But they also said you should be okay driving to the nearest tire place.
You would be OK if just the front tire had to be changed and if your rear tire did go flat i would just take one of the front stick it on the rear put your spare up front done
Put some more air in spare tire as close as max...to give some little gain of height then air down all 3 other tire to make it almost equal (height) then drive SLOW to some local to fix a flat tire or replace
Like all 3 (33") tires 25 psi and spare tire 40 psi something like that..
