looking to get a # for that, "stock 3.5" cat delete pipe" if anyone has it, searched but could not locate.
or an aftermarket 3.5" would do as well........
Try F81Z-5A246-JA (list $59.09). It's for a 7.3 and it's a little longer (about 4.75 inch) than for a 6.0. Simply cut it off. Get a new hanger F81Z-5A246-JA (list $20.03), too. This, from experience.
well, the cost of a new 4" cat back is around $400 or way more....a 3 1/2" straight thru muffler can be had for $45. a 3ft stack around $20 + clamps @ $15...
$80 for a muffler shop to put it together.
Personally i have a hard time figuring 1/2" in exhaust diameter is going to do a lot
my
theory is keep it @3 1/2" straight thru and lose all restriction.
Pay half the price for the same results.
Which truck u have can make MAJOR differences to have a full turbo back with mandral (Sic) bends....
the stock downpipe on my 03 6-oh was like a crushed soda can...
the new 3.5" downpipe opens up to a 4 inch from the downpipe back....
and looks like the alaska pipeline compared to the stock tube....
REALLY a surprsing difference !
And, OBTW, some have tested and noted that the CAT does not inhibit flow or timeslips or power....
but that didn't sway me as much to leave mine on as did the possibiility of upwards of a $10,000 fine from the feds for removing the emissions equipment
but to each his own.... just trying to help by offering my $.0000000000002
And where's our engineer moderator to calculate the flow diff for a 3.5 to 4 " diameter tube...
( I SHOULD know that... but it's been a LONG time since I studied flow dynamics in Chem Engr in college !!!!!)
