Tim or anyone else. I've searched to no avail. I remember a thread about cold air intakes and stock filter replacements. About a couple months ago.
There was a lengthy post from a FTE member/outfit that actually tested many intakes and filters. Particular emphasis was put on the silicone used on the washable filters and how that affected the sensors in the intake path. There were also some oil analisys results cooresponding to the filters ability to clean, pass/not pass on the silicone, and flow air. I remember that the stock filter actually cleaned the air best, and that it's flow numbers were middle of the road in comparison with many higher end units.
If anyone knows where this thread is, please post the link here. It had some good info in it.
I'm a firm believer in the Zoodad mod. If that small change can make differences, then one would think there's something else that Ford might not quite have engineered to the fullest extent.
What I really want is a direct replacement, reusable, washable type filter. I know the Green filter does that, just don't know anyone who has tried it. They're European in origin, used a lot over there from what I learned on the website. I've used K&N in the past, and they have the rep to back up their products. I know at least one 6.0 owner I have spoken with that loves his Airraid filter system. I do understand that filtration is a very high priority here.....just looking to get the best of both worlds, if that is possible.
