Spark Plug Wires/ Runs Rough???????
hey guys, i just replaced my spark plus wires this afternoon now my truck runs really rough and seems like it just doesn't want to go, w/ my old wires it ran pretty good, checked firing order, i don't thing the plus themselves would be messed up just from changing the wires,i changed the plus aobut 3 mths ago along w/ the wires, but two of the old wires were arcing a lil bit so we just replaced them at the time so i decided just to get a new set so as not to have different wires on. any ideas at all?? truck is '92 F150 302 Thanks

I'd check the timing. Make sure all the wires seated correctly, they should have poped or clicked when put on the spark plugs. If that doesn't do it, try puttin the old wires back on... Where did you get the new ones and what did you pay? If it was AZ and about $20 then you screwed up. Go get the $60 napa wires, they are OEM wires.

Same thing happened to me. There's a TSB on plug wire routing that you can find in a thread somewhere. The wires I used were Ford Racing from Summit & are a little longer. If you don't route the wires EXACTLY according to the TSB, they "crosstalk". This will cause a drivability condition that includes rough running & poor power/gas mileage. I re-routed my new wires correctly, including using some additional wire looms & it now runs as smooth as when it was new.
