Ford 302 EFI Issue(I think!)
Engine starts. idles somewhat erradic, Revs fine when no load applied, When load is applied i.e. First/Second gear okay. Third gear, Engine looses power and sounds like its backfiring up into the manifold. My confusion is that the engine can be "hammered" when not in gear. but when a load is applied it sputters? Has new heads /timing chain / Dist.cap / wires / plugs / air intake sensor. Fuel filter etc.

Turns out whilst standing over the emissions diaghram drinking a cup of coffee and scratching our heads my buddy and I discussed the lack of smog equpment left on this machine and pointing out locations left bare and pointed to the MAP sensor and discovered that the plug to it was laying ever so close to its port and the vacuum line staring at its intended target, We decided after a week of fogged brains and empty beer cans and coffee cups, that maybe we should plug the damn thing in. Runs good, Now its ball joints season. Don't sweat the petty stuff, Pet the sweaty stuff.
