fuel tank sizes?

i have a 96 F150 4.9 2wd XL with dual tanks.... ive figured i get about 225 miles to a tank in the front, i dont use the rear that much, just on start up. i was wondering what size fuel tanks they are.

Front tank is 17 gallons for shortbed trucks, 19 gallons for longbed trucks. The rear tank for longbeds is supposed to be 19 gallons, but mine doesn't usually take more than about 17 gallons before the pump shuts off. The front one does fill pretty close to 19 gallons. My truck is a longbed.

There was also quite a lengthy post on here a while back on fuel tank sizes. You might do search and find that. Several people posted up the various sizes of fuel tanks they had.

IIRC, the rear tank is 18.6 and the front tank is 19.0 on my 133" WB '92 F-150.

Well I just replaced the tanks on mine. It's a longbed. I guess they use what they have. I had a shortbed tank in my truck, It was about a foot shorter than the longbed tank. 16 gal versus19.
