Back Firing

Ok I have a 84 B2 with the 2.8L engine I have a holley carb. I just started having back firing issues with the bronco. It doesn't do it all the time only sometimes when I start the B2 and sometimes after coming to a stop and start driving again it will back fire does any one have any suggestions?

I've got the same problem too, as well as back firing thru the intake@ the same time, although mine's a 2.9 w/ EFI. Slimbronco, does it "bog/sputter" when it back fires when you put your foot in it too?

Hows the ignition timing, if it's retarded it will backfire.
If you watch it running in the dark is there any crossfirng between plug wires. Is the distributror cap in good shape?
