To all 351w H.O. owners, what kind of carburetor do you have on your engine? Please be specific ie: Edelbrock 600cfm with Electric Choke and non-emissions.
The Reason I am asking is because I need to get a new carb and I was wondering what everybody else had.

I dont have one of the motors but from knowing Ford motors and all a 600 cfm Holley or Edlebrock would be good Holley you need to adjust a bit edlebrock you dont as much but there both great carbs anmd great power suppliersyou also couild go witha 650 maybe a 700 but I wouldnt go bigger unless you have massive air intake you dont want to give it too much fuel it will defeat the purpose

The Holley gave me some problems, so I had to switch to the Carter. Now I use a Carter AFB 625 CFM on my 351. This carburetor is very easy to adjust if you have the Carter (or Edelbrock) Calibration kit. Most auto parts stores can get them, and Summit has 'em. This carb has worked very well for me on the 351.
I have the stock Holley 4180C, elctric choke on my 84 F150 351HO. I rebuilt it recently and it runs very nice. It's actually not that hard to adjust with the directions in the kit and helpful tips from the guys at FTE. Unfortunately the rebuild kit is 2-3 times more in price than a kit for a "normal" Holley like the 4160. See ya,
Tom
I am running a motorcraft 4350 I believe thats the number welectric choke, I use the 72 Mustang w 351 as my guide when ordering the carb, runs extremely well gets great miliage, and has no dang power valve to blow out when I down shift!! And Has Adjustable Manual Secondaries Too!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-Nov-02 AT 08:28 PM (EST)]I'm running the original 4180 I believe. Built by Holley for motorcraft. It's a piece! I hate it.. It's been rebuit 3 times and still won't idle correctly. If I were you, I'd go for a Holley 600.
i got fed up with the stock holley leaking so i slapped a 1406 edelbrock i had laying around on there......along with a new non egr manifold. runs like a champ now
