No I'm not looking to add fog lites to my Ranger. My problem is that 10yrs+ of AZ sun has given my truck Cataracts. I'm hoping that somebody in here knows of a treatment to clear this up, or of a reasonable place to get replacement lenses.
You know, I've tried a half dozen different types of plastic cleaners/polishers on these stupid plastic headlights and have found that Rain-X works just as good for half the price.
Nothing I've found so far will remove 100% of the oxidation and restore them to their original clarity.
Polishing compound worked ok for me. I only did the outside. But, I decided to purchase some Crystal Altezza Headlights from ebay, along with some Sylvania Silverstars. Not installed yet, but I bet they will be 1,000% better than my stock yellowed headlights.
Or, you could do a search for ranger headlights on ebay, and you'll find some vendors with clear headlights that aren't really expensive, and look real good. Supposed to put out good light too. And yes, Sylvania Silverstars are really nice to have at night, though they're a little spendy.
well i'll tell you waht i did
first i went out and bought some mcquires scratch x and that did charms! i do it every once and a while and it keeps getting better and better!
then i went on ebay and found some yellow headlights and bought those. they were 9.99 i think, they are aweomse! you can see so good, the reason i bought the yellow headlights is cuz i have yellow driving lights tho
It comes in a tube. Squeeze a little onto a paper towel and wipe 'til it's almost invisible.
Buff it up with a clean terrycloth towel, or a 'microfiber' towel.
Presto!!! Looks like new!
Flitz ain't cheap. . . .but, it works!!
Works on metal, plastic, heck, even 'pot' metal.
It will make stainless steel look almost like chrome. (Lots of polishing, though.)
