New SD Gasser

Hello Everyone! Just found this site. I am getting ready to order a 2005 SD with a gas engine. I have a 2000 F350 4X4 CC with a PSD. Going back to a gas engine. I don't pull much more than a 2000lb trailer & wondering if the V-10 would be worth it for me over the V-8. Almost all my driving is on the flat ground down here along the coast. I am going to get a F250 or 350 CC with 4X4. How much better is the fuel for the V8 compared to the V10. I'm thinking the weight of the truck may make the v10 just about as good mpg wise. I know the new moters are supposed to be better all the way around over the older ones. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!!
THANKS!!

The v8 and v10 get almost the same mpg. For the extra 600 I would get the v10 you won't be disappointed.

I have a 03 V10, one of the guys at the FD I work for has a 02 V8 we have boats that are close to the same. Mine is a 23' poler CC he has a 22' Key Largo. Last summer we
towed to Key West. Over the two week trip he got 1 MPG better than I did. I like my v-10, in this weight truck I feel the V10 is a better motor.
