Video Capture
I know this probably has been discussed, but there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there. I am looking to transfer VHS to DVD. I already have good editing software, just looking for a good USB capture device. Any recommendations? Looking for great quality for around $100.
Suggestions? and thanks in advance!

For under $100 bucks, you choices are limited.
There's Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80. It's about $70 bucks. Plugs into a USB port on the PC and allows you to jack in a VCR.
Your other option might be Pinnacle Systems Studio AV/DV Version 9 Video Editing Kit. It's around $100 bucks. It is a card (PCI).

It inputs composite video or s-video. Audio is input through your PC's audio input. It's not the ultimate video capture device but is very user friendly. This isn't a recommendation for this specific product because it's one of many devices in it's class that do pretty much the exact same thing for the same price. The key is to use a higher speed connection than USB 1.
Some will argue the differences between USB 2 and Firewire but since I haven't had a chance to try any firewire devices at all, I can only say that USB 2 work perfectly fine for everything I use it for including analog video capture.
