No EGR Valve

I have a 1993 Ranger 4.0 5 spd manual 4x4.And my engine has no egr valve I have gotten with two dealerships and got a printout of the location of the egr and everyone says its in the same location just under the IAC valve but my engine has nothing there and nothing appears to be missing.Everything looks okay no blocked off ports nothing appear to be missing its as if the truck was just made without one also the tag just under the hood the shows vacum diagrahm does not show egr either.Did they make these without egr valves or are they located somewhere else.If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

When the 4.0L came out in 1990, a future provision was added for EGR. It was not used until 1994 in California. So there are no 1993 Ranger 4.0's with EGR.
