My truck started idling really high, like at 1700 in park and 1300 in Drive while stopped. So I took off the IAC and sprayed it with carb cleaner and put it back on. Problem solved completely!
So when your truck is acting funny and everyone suggests, "clean the IAC!", do it, becuase it might actually be the problem

I pulled and cleaned mine in an attempt to solve a low idle problem, but I'm more and more convinced it's my TPS, since the truck still runs the same and I now have cleaned the IAC with carb cleaner thoroughly...
It is pretty easy to get it off though, so it can't hurt anything for sure.
If it goes bad again you may need a new one, should last for a while though. Just a side note you may have to replace the gasket to. It caused a vacuum leak on mine, that i could not find, until later when it was towed to Fords.
