O.K., so i ran out and bought a NAPA 6637 filter for my 97, and i'm having difficulty setting it up. Right now, i have it connceted directly up to the stock hose, but it seams too short, and it is very close to the hood, and the master cylender. I have heard or people using a piece of PVC, like 22* piece and puting it between the stock hose, and the filter, but how will they seal correctly? if both pieces are solid plastic?? any help would be great, thanks- Robb
I think most have used a 4" peice of exhaust pipe to go between the black hase and the filter. Pvc might work also. It helps if the pipe is bent 45 deg. It should sit right where the stock box was.
yea its goes Rubber (red) off the turbo - Metal (grey) where CCV pipe is located - Rubber (black) that ran to the original filter box..... i'm not sure how other people got the pipe to stay secured onto the new filter because they are both a hard plastic.... thanks.... ITfox, does the hard plastic-hard plastic seal??-thanks
mech, i tryed that, unfortunately i have a 97, and the hose is not long enough to reach all the way into the bay where that factory box was, and i don't like the idea of it being pinched between the master cyl. and the battery, and the hood.... a little to close for comfort.... Just wondering if anyone has tryed/used a pvc fitting in there.... thanks for the help so far mech
When I pushed the pipe and filter together I would'nt have thought you even needed a clamp. Its tight enough leakin is the last thing youll worry about. You'll love it!
Thanks guys.... Well it's 12* outside.... and it's 12:30 .... so i think i'll fix it in the mourning..... I'll let you know how it turns out+ take a few picks in the mournin'.... thanks again!
