swappin trannys

I am the owner of an 85 bronco with an AOD tranny and was wondering what it would involve to throw in a C4 or C6 instead, or would it just be easier to keep the AOD.

well since no one has answered, what motor is it? 4x4? the trans will bolt right up, problem areas might be the kickdown, crossmember mount, driveshaft, maybe shift linkage. not sure if these are necessary or not. many mustang guys do this swap, they might have a writeup on one of the boards.

From what the tranny guy said that rebuilt my aod in an '84 150, the aod is a good transmission and he said when rebuilt properly they are quite a bit more stout than stock.

The guy who rebuilt your tranny lied to you but the aod is not a bad tranny if it works good and is good on the highway i would leave it alone. The c6 and c4 are good trannys but your top end speed will not be as good
