Cowl Trouble
Part 1: The Story Behind Part Two
I've got a 1980 F150. It's a 302 with a fourspeed w/ O/D. It was origionally an automatic and after two C4s and no available money, I installed the 4 speed. I got it for free from a buddy. I couldn't get any clutch pedal assembly to fit accept a cable clutch setup from a mustang. I bought an adjustable cable from a swap meet and installed it. However, I had to cut the bottom of the cowl to fit the quadrant and cable. I mounted the cable to the engine side of the cowl. However, this left a gaping hole into my cab. I sealed off part of the cowl, but wanted to seal off the whole thing. The only thing that stopped me was a friend saying my heat wouldn't work with the cowl sealed off. So I've left it the way it is. Water doesn't get in b/c I sealed off part of the cowl, but air does. The heat can just compensate for the wind blasting in at 65mph.
Part 2: The Question
Can I seel off the cowl and still have heat? I planned on opening the foot vents and just having the air recirculate from there to the heater intake. Let me know if I'm wrong.
