I have a 1994 Ext. Cab 4.0 and I am running a power cable from the battery through the firewall to an amplifier. Where is the easiest spot to run this cable through the firewall? Also, I followed the + cable from the battery and found that it went through the power distribution box and to a device on the side of the engine bay and it is snipped off coming off the device. Would this be a place for me to hook the power cable up? Thanks.

I'm not sure that you're going to find an easy spot. Why not just drill a hole and run the wire through it. To ensure fire safety, use a rubber grommet in the hole through the firewall and locate an inline fuse at the battery or wherever you new circuit begins. You could also look around for an existing grommet; just make sure that your new wire is not rubbing against metal and that the line is still fused.
There is a gramet for the steering box that I used for my amp. Take a awe and poke a hole in it and run the wire with a coat hanger and you will find it on the other side under the dash.
